DESTINY ARTS PARTNERSHIP

The partnership between Destiny Arts Center and BANDALOOP was started over 25 years ago by BANDALOOP founder, Amelia Rudolph, and Destiny Arts Center’s Co-Founder and Artistic Director Emeritus, Sarah Crowell. We are so excited to enter another year and continue to bring vertical dance training and performance to Bay Area youth. 

This program has 2 parts, Fall training and Winter/Spring Creation. 

During Fall training, students are introduced to the fundamentals of BANDALOOP’s unique style of rope and harness vertical dance. We will introduce our Culture of Safety and how we use climbing gear to ascend into vertical space and rappel to the ground. Students will learn to stand, run, jump and flip on walls as well as explore the possibilities of free-hanging pods and low fly. 

During Winter/Spring Creation, we will use the techniques and skills developed in the Fall to develop choreography to be performed in the Destiny Arts Youth Performance Company’s annual spring show. 

Every class will involve opening circle, meditation, full body warm-up and on the ground strength training and vertical dance rotations. 

Registration:

If you decide to participate in the program after orientation, you will be asked to enroll as a student at BANDALOOP through our registration software, ClassBug. 

You will also be asked to enroll as a student at Destiny Arts Center. 

This is so both organizations have your info in our systems. More info and instructions on this after the orientation.
